On Jan 20th, Wills Creek Block Watch held their annual meeting. Each Block Watch is required to have at least one meeting a year to remain in good standing.
This year’s meeting was held in conjunction with the AGM. Ashely Sousa and Cpl Ted Lewko from the RCMP District 5 office attended and provided information with respect to mailbox theft, identity theft, vehicle and residential break-ins and , as well as the local situation with respect to criminals and squatters living in abandoned houses and using them as a base for criminal activity.
Some of the key messaging was ensuring you lock your vehicles and remove any temptation for criminals to break in. Also being aware of scams, and reporting any crime or suspicious activity to your Block Watch Captain/Co-Captain and police.
