September is Distracted Driving Awareness month, so ICBC has forwarded me this great infographic that I’ve copied into the body of this email as well as attached so you can quickly read it here or print it off and put it up in a common area where you live. It has some great lesser-known facts about laws against distracted driving, such as:
“If you have an L or N, you’re not allowed to use any personal electronic devices, even with a hands-free system.”
and the last stated requirement that your:
“… hands-free device can be activated or deactivated with a single touch and is in a fixed location (not your cup holder!)”
Most of the tips sent to you are about protecting you from criminal risks to your person and property, but remember that once you enter a vehicle, your chance of personal injury increases dramatically, so please always be cognizant of your own level focus and ability to avoid hazards on the road.
