Problem: Refrigerator water dispensers not working, possible cause water filter needs replacing.
- Solutions: Install new water filter, unplug refrigerator to reset. Generic Brands are available on line for significant less cost than Fisher Paykel Brand.
Problem: Fisher Paykel Oven will not heat. Possible cause convection element burnt out, or Limiter Thermal switch burned out if oven was recently self-cleaned.
- Solution: If element burnt out – Replace element (new elements can be purchased on line for $65.00). If the oven was recently cleaned using the self-clean function, depending on model chances are the Limiter Thermal switch is burned out and requires a service call to replace. This switch will continue to burn out unless the clock module containing a flash micro-controller that controls all oven electrical components is replaced. The service calls to replace either component is very expensive. I have recently been in contact with Fisher Paykel Support and they will not stand behind their product or acknowledge this defect, as the ovens are 6 years old. Discussions with FP continue.
Problem: Front door handle loose and coming off. Possible cause, inner mechanism installed incorrectly.
- Solution: Remove and reinstall so “Allen screw” will seat properly not allowing handle to come off.
Problem: Some units get direct sunlight on their garage door. If the angle of the sunlight is just “perfect” the light prevents the electric eye from working properly. The result is a door that will only partially open and will not close.
- Solution: There’s nothing wrong with the door. Both press and hold the manual wall mounted switch until the door is properly open or closed, as desired; or, have someone stand in the driveway blocking the sunlight from hitting the sensor. Don’t block the eyes from connecting with each other; just prevent the sunlight from interfering. When the position of the sun shifts enough the problem should resolve itself.
