During the early morning hours of Sept 4th around 3 am a resident’s vehicle was broken into on the 3109 side of complex and a quantity of tools ($4-5,000) along with the occupants wallet was stolen. The culprit gained access via an unlocked vehicle and using the garage door opener also gained access to the garage. The suspect then used the credit cards to purchase a variety of items from several different stores in the Morgan Heights area following theft theft. Fortunately one of the store owners recognized him as a frequent visitor so perhaps he can be identified by police. This subject could also be responsible for rash of recent thefts in and around our complex over the past couple weeks.
The suspect is believed to be driving a newer model small black foreign hatchback and from profile pics captured on a surveillance video it appears the profile may be that of a Honda Versa Note. See pic and video attached. This is also another reminder to ensure your vehicle is locked and not to leave valuables in your vehicle including garage door openers and be especially vigilante to lock you inner garage door and activate the safety lock on your garage door opener located on the wall inside the garage. See attached link for further info previously posted on this subject.
