Recently a home owner reported their shower door had come loose from the supporting hinge while stepping into the shower. Luckily the bottom hinge held which kept the glass door from falling and shattering. Needless to say the owner avoided serious injuries from shards of broken glass had the door fallen completley and smashed. Upon closer examination, it appeared over time the screws in the hinge holding the door to the wall loosened off causing the hinge to fail. Residence are urged to check the hinges on your shower doors and if there is any doubt about their integrity to have a professional check their status. See pictures attached.
